Raymond Henderson is a native of Memphis Tennessee. Born and raised in the Westwood area, he’s always found a way to be a positive light to everybody he’s around. He has always had a passion for working in the community. He would finally get his opportunity while serving as a youth leader at New Direction Christian Church for 10+ years. He most recently partnered with the City of Memphis’s Opportunity Youth Program where he, and other professionals, listened and provided advice from the place of mentorship to young men and women who were entering adulthood. He walked with students and allowed them to shadow him with his daily roles as being a business owner. Raymond also works with the Memphis Child Advocacy Center to provide coloring books and crayons for children during the holiday season. He works with various faith based organizations to donate food items to feed the homeless, as well as utilizing his own personal skills by providing free haircuts to the homeless men with the Hospitality Hub of Memphis.

Raymond has been a Master Barber for over 23 years. He’s planted a Salon in the Orange Mound community where he has remained for the past 15. Through his salon he co-founded the non-profit organization Helping Inspire Men. At H.I.M. the focus is to serve and uplift Black Men across the Memphis and Shelby County area thru mental health awareness and emotional literacy. Raymond has also served his community for the past 17 years being an affiliate broker at Keller Williams Realty.

In conclusion, as a culmination of all his passions he’s centered his love for his community with him completing his Trauma Informed Coaching Certification through the University of Mental Health under the leadership of Kelli Harris. He is dedicated to bring healing and unity to the Memphis community and the world beyond.
